Europe Trip - Day 1 (Helsinki, Finland ➜ Tallinn, Estonia)

We visited 5 countries in this 10 days Europe trip
including the 3 Baltic states and 2 countries:
Estonia (Tallinn)
Latvia (Riga)
Lithuania (Kaunas & Vilnius)
Poland (Warsaw & Cracow)
Finland (Helsinki)

After a long flight of about 12 hours to Helsinki
we headed to the Katajanokka Terminal
for a ferry to Tallinn, Estonia
The terminal is also called Skatuddens Terminal
and the ferry company is Viking Line
乘坐了大约12小时的飞机到赫尔辛基之后
去搭乘前往塔林，爱沙尼亚的游轮
那轮渡码头的名字也叫Skatuddens Terminal
游轮公司的名字是Viking Line

As we arrived quite early at the terminal
we walked around the area to have some breakfast before boarding
Within 15 minutes walking distance
("Kauppatori" in Finnish)
where sells many food and souvenirs
We had some crepes and coffee there
For what's the popular food selling at the market
please refer to Day 10 post
as that's when we had them
因为我们抵达码头的时候还早
所以我们在上船前到附近走走，吃吃早餐
在距离15分钟的路途
（芬兰语叫“Kauppatori")
那里卖着许多食物和纪念品
我们在那享用了些可丽饼和咖啡
至于集市广场有卖什么比较受欢迎的食物呢

因为我们是当天才吃到的

Along the way, there are observation wheel and public sauna
but we didn't experience them

the name of the sauna is Allas Sea Pool
They also provide natural sea water pool
as shown in the picture above on the right

不过我们没有亲自体验

The ferry took many different vehicles too
such as trucks, buses, cars, and motorbikes
游轮底部也载了许多大大小小的交通工具
比如卡车，巴士，汽车，摩多车


The ferry we took does not have a fixed seat for passengers
It's pretty big with some bars and cafes as well as marts
The duration of travelling from Helsinki to Tallinn is about 2.5 hours
if you feel like resting
you could find a seat at an indoor or outdoor cafe or bar
我们乘坐的游轮并没有给乘客设定座位
游轮挺大的，还有些酒厅，咖啡厅和市场
从赫尔辛基到塔林的时长大约要2.5小时
如果想要休息
可以随意在室内外的咖啡厅或酒厅找个座位

Once arrived at the terminal in Tallinn
there were many tricycles provided for the travellers
as a transport option
and they are actually semi-automatic
抵达塔林码头的时候
有许多三轮车提供给游客
为一项交通选择
而且它们都是半自动的



Then,
we went to the L'Ermitage Hotel to check in
This hotel has been receiving many awards from TripAdvisor since 2014
There was a mix-up over our booking
so the team organised us complimentary transport from the airport
and a bottle of champagne for each room
As the rooms were not ready at the time we arrived
we stored our luggage at the hotel
and went to the town hall square to have our lunch
接着
我们便到L'Ermitage酒店去办入住
这家酒店自2014年从猫途鹰网站(TripAdvisor)获得了许多奖项
我们的预订被搞混乱了
因此他们为我们安排了从机场到酒店的免费交通
和每间房各一瓶香槟
由于在我们抵达的时候房间还没好
我们把行李寄存在酒店
然后到市政广场去享用午餐

The restaurant we went to have lunch
is a famous pancake restaurant called Kompressor
They sell many varieties of pancakes
including salty and sweet flavour
我们是在一家出名的煎饼餐厅吃午餐的
餐厅名叫 Kompressor
他们卖很多种类的煎饼
包括咸和甜的口味

It was under refurbishment when we visited
so the picture taken wasn't that nice😞

7. Town Hall Square and Town Hall
塔林市政广场和市政厅
Tallinn Town Hall is the oldest surviving town hall
in the Baltic countries and Scandinavia
We visited it as a museum with a fee of 5 € per adult
The Town Hall Tower is also available to be visited
at its opening time with a separate fee of 3 € per adult
There are 115 steps to take to reach the belfry
since we are not that energetic
we gave up to visit the tower 😅
塔林市政厅是在菠萝的海国家和斯堪的纳维亚内
存活最久的市政厅
我们以博物馆的形式参观了其市政厅
费用是每成人5欧元
市政厅塔楼也可在其开馆时间
以每成人3欧元的费用参观
到达顶层的钟楼需要走115阶梯
由于我们没有那么多的活力
便决定放弃参观塔楼了 😅

After the sightseeing of the old town
we went back to the hotel to rest and refresh ourselves
for a fine dining dinner at Väike-rataskaevu
It is a very famous restaurant in Tallinn
which has the same owner and same menu as Rataskaevu 16
it is pretty hard to get a table to dine there
as we have seen many people failed to dine in
due to the full capacity
Therefore, make sure you make a booking in advance
I believe the reason they have two restaurants
is because there wasn't enough space to serve all the guests
在观光了老城后
我们回到酒店去休息和提提神
然后我们在Väike-rataskaevu享用晚餐
它是个在塔林里非常出名的餐厅
与Rataskaevu 16有相同的雇主和菜单
想在那要一桌座位吃晚餐并没有那么容易
因为我们见到好多人由于餐厅满了的原因
被拒于门之外
我相信他们会有两个餐厅
也是因为位子不足够

The staffs there were very friendly
especially the staff that served us
she was serving with her lovely smile all the time
and you could ask her any question
she would try her best to answer everything
那里的员工都非常友善
尤其是为我们服务的服务生
她在服务的时候一直都挂着笑容
而且也可以向她提问任何问题
她都会很尽力的回答
